🔑 How to Get API Keys from OKX Web3 — Step-by-Step Guide

🌐 Visit the OKX Web3 Website #

Open your browser and go to:
https://web3.okx.com

This is the main OKX portal for Web3, decentralized apps, and DEX.

🔗 Connect Your Crypto Wallet #

  1. Click the Connect Wallet button in the top right corner
  2. Select your wallet (e.g., MetaMask, OKX Wallet, Trust Wallet, etc.)
  3. Allow the website access to your wallet by following the instructions in your wallet extension or app ✅

🛠️ Go to the API Keys Management Section #

  1. In the main menu, select the Developer tab
  2. Find the section API DEX → API Keys Management 🔑
  3. Open this section to manage your keys

➕ Create a New Project #

  1. Click the Create Project button
  2. Enter a clear name for your project (e.g., MyTradingBot)
  3. Confirm the project creation ✅

🗝️ Create an API Key for Your Project #

  1. Inside the project, click Add API Key
  2. Select the access permissions. Important: Web3 DEX keys DO NOT have rights to withdraw funds or sell tokens
  3. Click Create to generate the key
  4. Copy the displayed Secret and API Key — a long string of letters and numbers
  5. Be sure to save the key in a safe place — for example, temporarily in a text file on your desktop

💡 Security and Convenience Tips #

  • Create multiple projects (1–3) to separate tasks
  • You can have up to 3 keys per project
  • The general recommendation: the more keys you create, the better. We created 7 keys for maximum flexibility and control
  • Never publish your keys publicly (e.g., on GitHub)
  • If a key is compromised — delete it in the management panel and create a new one
